About Session Management
The Session Manager provides an administrative interface for the AppBoard administrator to view and manage the list of active sessions. The administrator can then review the list of active sessions and selectively terminate the sessions. Session management is a useful tool for the AppBoard/enPortal administrator. For instance, if the system needs to be shut down for maintenance, the administrator can view the list of active sessions to see if any users are still logged in and working with AppBoard. The administrator can then choose to terminate the sessions or postpone the maintenance activity. If an active session is terminated, the associated user will be required to re-submit their credentials before any further requests are handled by the system.
Accessing Session Manager
To access Session Manager, follow these steps:
- Log into enPortal as administrator.
- Mouse over the "Advanced" tab and click "Explore System" from the drop down that appears.
- Click on "Directory" folder in the Explorer.
- Click on "System" sub-folder.
- Click on "User" sub-folder.
- Click on "Manage Sessions".
- You should now see the Manage Sessions list displaying all active sessions.
Understanding Session Manager
Display
The following details are provided for each active session:
Item | Description |
---|---|
Domain | The grouping that the user of the session belongs to |
User ID | The identifier for the user of the session |
Role | The assigned level of access for the user of the session |
IP | The IP address used to access AppBoard/enPortal for the session |
Login Time | The starting time of the active session |
Last Access Time | The last time the session actively performed an action against the system |
Click the column heading of 'Domain', 'User ID', 'Role', 'Login Time', or 'Last Access Time' to sort the active sessions by ascending order. By clicking the same column heading a second time, it will be sorted by descending order. The 'Domain' attribute can be configured for Session Manager to isolate and display a specific domain.
Usage
The following buttons are available in Session Manager:
Button | Use |
---|---|
Terminate | Terminate all of the selected sessions |
