Before you can create a data visualization inside AppBoard, you first need some data. The examples used in this wiki leverage sample CSV files that ship with AppBoard. The directions below walk you through how to bring that data into AppBoard. For more information, see Add/Edit/Remove a Data Collection.

Create a New Data Source

  1. Log in to AppBoard Builder as an administrator.
  2. In the Builder Modes panel, select Data Sources.
  3. Click the "Add" button in the bottom toolbar. The "Create New Data Source" dialog is displayed.
  4. Type in the name "Sample.Data".
  5. Select the "File" category for the adapter type, then choose "CSV Directory".
  6. Click the "Add Data Source" button in the bottom toolbar.
  7. The "CSV Directory" Data Source Wizard is displayed.

Configure A New Data Source

  1. For the Directory name, enter ${application.home}/data/pkg/appboard/tutorial.
  2. Click "Next" in the bottom toolbar.
  3. On the "Explore" step, click "Next".
  4. On the "Associate" step, click "Finish".
  5. In the Builder Modes panel, select Data Collections. A set of Sample Data Collections is displayed.
